Teaching Philosophy
When teaching, I believe it is vital to teach to the student, and not just the class. Every child learns differently and teachers have to teach differently to meet the needs of all their students within their classroom. Teaching is so much more than meeting curriculum and standards, but to ensure students are learning and going home with something new in their brains. I believe it is okay to make mistakes and fail, as a teacher and the student. I have implemented lessons which did not go as planned, but it made me realize what I need to differently next time to better my lesson. Students need to understand, it is okay to make mistakes because that is how an individual learns. I think knowledge is the most powerful, beautiful, and amazing thing a person can possess and to be a part of a child's knowledge and learning process is what makes being a teacher an occupation I have dreamt about.

Why I Want to be a Teacher...
There are many reasons that accumulate as to why I have chosen to become an educator, but one specific experience which has inspired me to pursue education. My junior year I was blessed with the most amazing math teacher, Mrs.Krock. Math was always a weak subject for me to tackle, and it was not until Mrs.Krock that I understood what I was accomplishing. I began to pick up the material as soon as it was distributed to the class. I would participate in this class, and I eventually even started to help my peers excel in class. I felt so honored that my teacher acknowledged me doing well in her class, and gave me the reward of leading my peers in to success. When I would help out other students, I would get a certain feeling in my heart each time one of them would understand how to do certain math problems. That feeling is something I crave daily, and pushes me to become a teacher.
